Our Carlisle Cathedral venue.
UK - Cumbria
Cumbria CLIL is based in North West England, just 8 miles from Scotland.
We use several venues in the historic centre of Carlisle. For those arriving via Newcastle, our “icebreaker excursion” to Hadrian’s Wall has always been a welcome breath of fresh air for teachers (literally!) after they have spent time travelling. As part of our six-day course, groups can either visit a local school or spend time in Edinburgh or Glasgow with our wonderful Scottish guide Tom Docherty of Photo-Walk Scotland. The final day of the course is spent working in the Lake District (Keswick) where you also have some free time to explore.
Accommodation: single occupancy rooms in family-run bed and breakfasts within walking distance of the city centre.
Meals: local restaurants and pubs.
Cumbria CLIL at other UK venues
The UK remains a very popular destination for teachers to improve their English and be surrounded by British culture.
We offer short, flexible courses at a location of your choice. If you would like to organise a shorter residential course at your preferred UK location, please contact us. This could, for example, take the form of a 2–3-day CLIL course at one of your UK partner schools, or in the vicinity of a particular port or airport. We will come to you!
